Teaming up with our missionaries, Charles and Kristen Young, was an incredible opportunity. I can't begin to describe all that God did on this amazing trip. First, the event went off without a hitch; a complete success. The youth event was called INVASION '06 and that's exactly what we did; we invaded Swaziland with the Gospel of Jesus Christ! With the prayer that God would invade the hearts of the youth of Swaziland, and we were able to reach 1,000 teenagers. I had the opportunity to lead worship at INVASION '06. God showed up and did amazing things. It was incredible to look out and see so many teenagers of a completely different culture passionately worshiping the same God we do.

Please continue to pray for Charles and Kristen because the real ministry is taking place right now. The lives that were touched at this event are now being funneled into local Christian churches that will help them live out the commitment they made to Christ. Thanks for all you do brother in-law, Charles, and sister, Kristen, you are in fact the best missionaries I have ever seen.

For His Renown

Life is a Highway!

Well we just got back from the ATL, in my escalade! For those who don't know my church is doing a huge building project as we finally can see the end of setting up and tearing down every week in the school we meet in right now. Don't get me wrong the school has been such a blessing up until now as many people have come to know Christ in the process.

But anyway the series has been great, me and Kristin have worked so hard as this is the most I guess you would call them deliverables, you know, books, bulletins, pamphlets, flyers, postcards, videos, the works...it was a big step for our promotion department but we took it and took it with stride, I will show all of you the goods when you come and see us. Ha.

the project is a 12 - 14 million dollar project and we are believing for 4 million in commitments by this coming weekend, so our faith is big, but so is God, and we are thinking we will break ground in the spring of next year, and then a year after that move in.

God is so amazing, he does everything in just the right timing, I truly believe that whatever your facing or think you need, God knows and he is going to give it to you when He knows you got what it takes to have it. I know that's deep but just go with it.

So here is what my life has been like since april...

Here is what my life has been like since April...Let's See...

I took Kristin for her birthday to see Jamie Cullum what an amazing show, if you hear about him coming to town you should go, if you don't have a love one to go with go with yourself you will still enjoy it.

I went on my first mission trip ever to Russia. But it was incredible to be in Russia I felt like Matt Damon in Bourne Supremacy only different cause I wasn't killing people I was more helping them and saving them. Pretty cool! Here is a picture that everyone has seen before.

We had a beach baptism that was pretty awesome. So I am trying to figure out the best way to do that for future. Speaking of team, I was just able to hire a graphic designer and a video tech for the church staff, it is awesome I finally can breath and these guys are amazing. I highly recommend going to this conference next year, especially because they way the schedule of the conference goes is 3 years on and 1 off. So you don't want to make the decision to go on the off year, that's a bummer. I know from experience.

The conference was full of great teaching (louie giglio, andy stanley, and francis chan) and great worship (charlie hall, david crowder band*, matt redman, chris tomlin, christy nockles) and great breakouts lead by all the worship leaders and main speakers dealing with anything from song writing to leadership training.

I got to take a few guys from my worship team, and probably one of the greatest things I could have done for them and the ministry.

For Instance, this past Sunday I had a tuff Sunday. Maybe because we had to "spring forward" and lost and hour of sleep or it just seemed after coming off this mountain top experience at the conference the devil was just coming down on me to discourage me. But then after I just thought it was going to be one of those days, Josh (one of the guys that went to the conference with me and did a breakout called "leading up", and it was all about supporting your leader) came up to me and said, "Jordan what can I do to take something off your plate I wan to help by leading up." I almost broke down, I told him, "That's all I needed to hear" after that, everything that was going wrong seemed to be so minuet.

Just wanted to share my excitement I have after being full up with God this week.

I've Got Bees

Well it's true, a week from yesterday I get a phone call from my lovely wife that says, "Ummm we have a problem, we have bees in our front tree" Sure enough there was a giant bee hive, how have we not seen it before, I have no idea. But it was huge, about the size of a basketball, and just swarming with bees and let me tell you it progressed very quickly.

The bees started calling there friends or something. When you looked out side of our front window, the blue sky turned black of bees. There truly had to be at least 1000 bees just swarming. I didn't know if God was mad at us or if we were in an Alfred Hitchcock movie. Kristin then begins to call "BEE REMOVERS," you can find anything on whitepages.com, who knew there was such a thing and they cost a fortune. I guess that BEE REMOVERS know, when you got bees you will figure out how to pay anything to get them out. So then I am at a meeting with all the pastors of the church while this is going on. I then tell them what is going on, because I am so bummed we are going to have to about 500 bones to get these bees gone. Then Jason(our children's pastor) and TJ(one of our assosicate pastors) chime up and start talking smack and saying, "You are stupid if you pay someone to come and kill bees" and I say, "well ya'll wanna come over and just take care of it" and you know it, they responded "I don't care I will come and take care of them, you just buy some bee/hornet spray killer and we come over and 'get crunk' on some bees." well by the time I got back home the bees were gone. I just call it a miracle. I don't understand it but the whole bee hive is gone, gone.

I think a part of me is a little disappointed because I really wanted to see Jason and TJ try to take out a whole be hive. I promise if they would have done it I would have some video showing everyone a couple of knuckle heads trying to defeat mother nature. I just laugh thinking about it.

Above All Else

"God’s Kingdom is like a perfect, flawless pearl. When a Jewel Merchant sees it, in his excitement and joy he sells all he owns to buy this one treasure” (Matthew 13:44 paraphrased a little)

Life can often feel like a busy, fast-moving journey. We have to keep running onwards, and get little time to look around and take in the scenery. But every now and then, we arrive at a bend in the road, or reach the top of a hill or mountain. In that place we have to pause, take in the view around us and decide which direction and path we will take next. We must also choose who and what governs our decisions and priorities in life.

Right now we all stand on a hill top together, watching as this day comes to a close and a new day begins to dawn. The view stretches out ahead of us - new horizons, new challenges, new choices to make. I hope you will join with me, praying that God will be first in our lives - above all else - in all that lies ahead. May knowing and loving him more, be the passion that guides our steps.

One for sale, one being delivered

Ok so if you know anyone who is looking to buy a house in the Bradenton Area, I have one. Not that we should be dreaming of leading before thousands. Absolutely not. Rather, we be should realising that, in reality, we join with millions and millions. Yes, so often we think far too small and miss out on the incredible truth of what is really occurring. Every single time we gather to worship God, we don´t just join with a choir of tens or hundreds. We accompany the whole host of heaven, the song of all creation and the choir of the redeemed who lift up an anthem to the Almighty throughout the nations.

One of the biggest obstacles to consistently fervent worship in a local church is that we miss the magnitude of the occasion. We focus in on the four walls surrounding us, and that becomes our reality. We see and hear a group of people in or out of tune with each other - sometimes passionate, at other times a little apathetic. And that becomes our whole reality. But there is a bigger picture to be seen.

Most of us have found ourselves in the midst of a large crowd at some event or another. Whether it´s 1,000 or 100,000 people, we experience an amazing dynamic when we´re part of that many gathered voices. As I write this, I have just had the privilege of being involved in a wonderful worship event in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It was inspiring to see over 7,000 Christians from many streams of the Church gathering together in the heart of the city, unified around the throne of God in worship. At times we sang unaccompanied, and believe me, the sound of 7,000 Irish voices in heartfelt praise is an amazing thing. But, for me, the excitement felt on such occasions goes way beyond the natural dynamic of lots of people under one roof singing their hearts out, as special and powerful as that can be. To me, the profound nature of such a gathering is heightened when realizeise that, as beautiful a sound as it is, it is still just the faintest whisper. Just a tiforethoughtste of the true reality of all that is and is to come. There is a louder shout and a sweeter song to be heard. As the old hymn says, ´Hark how the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own.´

The Belfast gathering left a big impression on me - but, of course, it´s not every day we get to join with such grandiose choirs in worship. And, let´s be honest, singing our hearts out in a home group setting with three or four of our less vocally talented friends just isn´t the same somehow. Or is it? Perhaps it can be, if we somehow in our spirits grasp the bigger picture. However small or large a gathering, however in or out of tune we are musically, we are joining with the eternal flow of praise that rises every moment before the throne of God. Short of God´s own voice, it is the greatest sound in all history.

Take a moment to put the sound of this worshipping choir into perspective. Imagine every language you´ve ever heard. Every accent and dialect. Every beautiful vocal sound. Add to that every harmony and every crowd, every choir, every large gathering. As these voices blend into one in your imagination, they are just the tiniest ripple of what is to come. One day every tribe and tongue will join this song. Multitudes and multitudes of passionate worshippers. Add now the sounds of all creation, every birdsong you ever awoke to, every ocean wave you heard reach shore, every clap of thunder, every whistling of the wind, every wild animal roar, ´Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth, and under the earth, and in the sea, and all that is in them singing´ (Rev. 5:13) - blend this sound with those cries of the nations, and the orchestration begins to take shape. Yet it is still a mere whisper. Even in our wildest imaginations we still hear merely in part. Now come the melodies and harmonies of the heavens, 10,000 times 10,000 angels in joyful assembly, and those strange living creatures speaking ceaseless praise.

This is the big picture, the true biblical perspective of what worship really looks like and will look like, before the heavenly throne. As lead worshippers, we must somehow hear beyond the sounds and harmonies flowing within the four walls of the building we use for church gatherings and attune our hearts to this grand eternal flow of praise. And then somehow, in the power of the Holy Spirit, lead our people into the same revelation. This is a worship-leading essential, a biblical perspective of the big picture in worship that will help us more than we could ever imagine.

in response to my brother-in-laws post
www.theduplechains.com

What do I want for Christmas?

Ok I am under a delema to come up with a christmas present from my inlaws. The contribution the Passion movement and the worship songs/artists it has birthed since has made quite an impact on modern church music as well. We thought we could all benefit from hearing Louie’s story and by getting a good look at what spurs him on today.

WM: Tell us where you started and how you got to this point.

Louie: My story is college students. I ended up at Baylor University kind of by accident in 1985. I mean, I actually knew I was driving there at the time, so not that much by accident, I was enrolling in grad school there after seminary. My wife was there. But I didn’t know what God’s purposes were until I got there.

With a small band of students, we started a Bible study at Baylor University, a campus of 11,000 students, and in about five years, there were 1400 college students coming to this Bible study every Monday night. For ten years, that was my life. And the Bible study was simple: it was worship and music. Granted, it was ’88, ’89, ’92, we weren’t blowing anything out of the water; we weren’t cutting edge like now, but I remember getting an Integrity music tape in 1988, and let me tell you what happened. This guy had sequenced four worship songs together! The CD was called Glorify Thy Name; it had a star on the front. I got our group together, and I said, The songs are joined together! Wow! It was a huge revelation. We literally put the words on overhead transparencies and played the tape at our Bible study.

That’s where worship was in 1987. That’s where we were living. It was unbelievable. And midi keyboard and sequencing and programming—that was the world. It was flat-out cutting edge for our time there, but we did two things: We wanted students to encounter God in musical expressions of worship, where they could be free, uninhibited. And we taught the Word of God—no holds barred, no messing around, it was a call to follow Jesus Christ. Worship in music and strong teaching of the Word, that’s all we did. We didn’t serve free food, we didn’t have dramas, we didn’t do anything else. And I mean students just poured into this thing. For ten years, that was my life.

We transitioned in 1995 to Atlanta, because my dad was ill. My dad was disabled several years before, and finally my wife and I felt the release of God to go help my mom take care of my dad. So we left our ministries at Baylor to our staff and moved to Atlanta. I was going to work at Home Depot. I didn’t have a ministry; I was just going to help my mom take care of my dad. Our last Monday night Bible study in Waco, before we literally moved to Atlanta, was the day we buried my dad. He died in the process of us getting to Atlanta, and now here we were in no man’s land. We couldn’t go back to Waco. We were in Atlanta, and we didn’t know why.

Jdizzel Moviezzil Reviewzzl

RoBoTS
I have to say this one was a lot better then me and Kristin expected it to be. It did however make me cry (good cry) so guys be aware. But it was very low budget which a lot of times kept me distracted in picking out all the flaws instead of watching the movie. But I still recommend seeing it, for some of you though, take into consideration that this may be a renter for you. The thing that disappointed me most was the audio quality, and it wasn't the movie theatre it was definitely the movie. So they didn'’t spend a whole lot of money on getting the audio professionally done, which is rather shocking with Kirk being such a vital role in producing this and with Fred Hammond who has his own studio being a big time gospel producer. It sounded like they put in a cd and lip sung over it. All in all it is a powerful movie deal primarily with the story of the prodigal son.

The "Lead Worshipper" vs. The "Worship Leader"

When Jesus was asked what was the "greatest commandment" of all, he replied, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." (Mark 12:30) That sums up all that we are called to be as believers in Jesus, and the primary focus of our lives. That why we're here. As worship leaders, we're called to assist others in that pursuit. Our own worship life doesn't always reflect that. We've got to get our "loves straight" in order to get our lives straight to be able to motivate and encourage others in expressing their love to God. We're called not just to direct worship, but to model it as "lead worshippers."

Bands to Check Out

Here are a few bands I have been listening to lately. I have 3 words for you "It Was Weak." We were disappointed so we decided to go to Notre Dame and visit the campus. We got the guy, remember the custodian in Rudy (black guy), well he was there and he let us in the stadium for about 10 minutes to take pictures and just see Notre Dame. It was awesome!!!

This is me and my friend TJ McCormick (check out his blog @ pastort.blogspot.com) and if you look in the back right, this is my lead pastor ya'll. He broke out on the field, definitely not suppose to be, and started pretending he was catching passes and scoring touchdowns chanting "Rudy Rudy." That was close to the time where the custodian, you know Rudy's friend, well his boss came out and yelled at us saying, "GET OUT NOW"

It was fun, I will post more pics soon
